Eustratia Open House.

In February I opened my showroom to the public for the first time and hosted the first Eustratia Open House Day. The event was co-hosted by my friends from Vauhaus and attended by many lovely models I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the last few years. IMG_8533I enjoyed setting up the showroom and showcasing my work in an environment that complemented it. It was also great to interact with people, show them the garments in person and talk about the details and shapes, something that isn’t really possible when, like me, you sell mostly online.

Eustratia Open house event.

Next month, to celebrate the third birthday of my label, Eustratia and officially test out my showroom I’m hosting my first open house event.

open house 1 flyer

The whole house will be open to friends of the brand, models, photographers and potential customers who will be able to view and try on samples, preview the new collection, talk to me in person and find out about upcoming projects.

Regular Eustratia models will be available to talk about wearing latex to those who haven’t tried it before or would like to know a bit more about it.

Our friends from VAUHAUS will also be in attendance with beautiful new faces to introduce and a guest photobooth by Toria Brightside, agent and chief photographer.

Richard Ayres will be showcasing his bespoke chainmail accessories and visitors will have the change to see it in person and talk about about commissions.

TG Manchester promoter Frankie Knuckles will also be making an appearance for those who would like to find out about future events.

I will be inviting creatives that have collaborated with the brand over the last three years, local models, photographers and industry people as well as a few magazines but the event is also geared towards potential customers who want to find out more about the brand or latex clothing in general. Please get in touch if you can get to Manchester and would like to attend. The address will be available on the Facebook event page and there will also be transport available from Piccadilly train station at 2:30pm to bring people to the event if they are not local to Manchester.

Showroom trial

Yesterday I set up the showroom in my new house for the first time. I haven’t had the time or money to get everything I need need yet so I was expecting it to look very incomplete but was pleasantly surprised and can already see it’s potential.

rail 2I have been toying with the idea of holding an open house event in February for the Eustratia third birthday and seeing the garments laid out has definitely made me feel more confident about the idea. I think the room lends it’s self well to this sort of roll.

tree1Of course it is close to Christmas and I do have the tree up, which won’t be a permanent fixture but I have thought of something equally as lovely to replace it when the time comes.

ARMCHAIRSome of the drama in the room is definitely due to my new acquisition, this ornate armchair. I have dreamed of having a chair like this for years and was planning to repaint and reupholster it but I posted a picture on instagram this morning and a lot of people seem to think it should stay gold…

SOFAtable 2TABLEI like the idea of having a space that is beautifully laid out where people can browse products and try stuff on in a comfortable way, while chatting to their friends, maybe taking a snap or two. I think people like visiting boutiques but fear shop assistants asking them what they want or trying to convince them to buy so I hope that creating a more relaxed atmosphere, not so centered on direct purchase will make it a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

The space and layout still needs work and my pictures don’t do it justice but customers who live in/visit Manchester are welcome to book an appointment and come round for tea and a fitting, to see their favourite items in person or even just to get measured for their order.

Details for the upcoming open house event will follow early next month and I’d love to hear your thoughts.

The Manopsychotisches Ballroom

The time has come to launch the much awaited, Eustratia lingerie range (which I have been working on for a few months now and I’m really pleased with) and I’m excited to be launching it at the event that I’m co-hosting with my stockist at TG Manchester promoter Frankie Knuckles.

The event is called The Manopsychotisches Ballroom and will feature art, performance, fashion and fetish elements, hopefully attracting a diverse and interesting (but not seedy) crowd.

The picture of my on the flyer is by a lovely set with SJImage which I can hopefully share with you soon.

The new lingerie range has a vintage twist while still retaining key Eustratia features and contemporary details. The styling I have chosen will contrast will the arty and industrial feel of the venue so we wanted to tie these elements together through the show. We have planned a guerrilla inspired, art-installation style fashion show where men will build and then dismantle part of a wall to reveal the models and then roll out turf for them to walk into the crowd on.

The range won’t be added to the online store till it has been professionally photographed but I will be taking orders at the launch.

VAU VAU fashion show

I’ve recently started planning for my next fashion show which is going to take place on the 27th of this month, in Leeds. The show has been organised by the amazing Toria Brightside and is being held in and amazing church which you can check out here. I always thought a church would be a great venue for a fashion show and what’s more is, all the proceeds go to charity! Tickets also go on sale today so if anyone would like to come please contact Toria or post a comment here.

I also designed the logo for this which was quite fun as I usually only do graphics for my own label and artwork. They wanted something simple that would work in both black and pale pink so this is what it ended up like. Then Amber turned it into an amazing ticket.

The facebook events page is here- http://www.facebook.com/events/141271342651753/  so check it out and come along if you’re in the are. There will be fashions shows by a variety of different designers, cash only market where you can find work by independent designers and artists, including one off pieces.

The models involved in the show are all stunning, a mixture of new faces and big names that are sure to do the show justice and I will also be stepping in for the finale!

I have named my part of the show “Faeries and Demons” and it will feature music and visuals by Dave Abbott. He also did the last piece for my TG show, which I got lots of compliments for.

More info regarding my show in particular, coming soon!
