Club Lash show

The first Eustratia fashion show of the year took place at the Club Lash relaunch at its new venue, Alter Ego.

Club Lash is Manchester’s longest running fetish club and also the first fetish club I visited, shortly after I turned 18. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and the club caters for players and clubbers alike, especially with the larger dance floor the new venue offers. My favourite new addition were the silky kimonos made available to smokers while they stand outside, I think this practice should be adopted by all clubs that encourage skimpy or unusual dress.

Though I like the venue on the whole, the stage is quite small and there is no dressing room so I had to make some change to my usual repertoire. Some male friends helped us close off the toilets for a few minutes so the models could get dresses and I made the show quite simple, with emphasis on the models and outfits.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to get a video but the official club photographer took some snaps for us.

Glasses

My plan to catch up on blog posts hasn’t been going so well due to having to move again and being without internet but I’m going to give it an other go.

Earlier in the year I started wearing glasses! I’ve known I needed them for a while but it still came as quite a shock. When I was younger I didn’t really like the look of them or think that I’d ever want to wear them but I actually think they’re a great accessory (as well as something I need to improve my vision).

In most cases I don’t need to wear them out but I got two pairs, just in case.

The first pair is quite simple, flattering to my face shape and goes with almost everything.

The second pair was a bit of a gamble but I wanted something more colourful with an interesting shape so I went for a modern cat eye by red or dead.

Spring needs

I recently managed to get my studio looking pretty much the way I want it, only to find out that I have to move again soon. The only thing that makes it bearable is that I have most of the furniture and equipment I need now and the next move will probably be easier.

I have a few posts to catch up on and with my birthday coming up I thought I’d start with wishlist type boards. I’m pretty sure my homeware choices will come as quite a shock after my wardrobe picks but that’s the way I like it.

clothesI’ve tried to choose items that could be Spingish but can also be layered for warmth as there’s no signs of the cold subsiding yet.

Christmas list

I’m actually quite  organised this year and have done most of my Christmas shopping already! I enjoy picking out presents for people as much as I enjoy compiling lists of what I’d like myself and that’s what makes posts like this so fun.

I don’t think an adult can ever be as excited about Christmas as a child and that’s why I always make sure I ask for some fun things to bring back those memories instead of just boring stuff like money, work stuff and driving lessons (which I did actually ask for this year).

Christmas list 12

1. grey coloured contacts. £15 http://www.turtlecontacts.co.uk I thought these would be fun to use for shoots, I get bored of my eye colour sometimes.

2. Lindt stracciatella truffles. You can’t have Chrismas without chocolate! I usually list the white ones as my favourite but stracciatella sounds even better!

3. Peal trim earmuffs £12 topshop. I wear earmuffs a lot in winter because they keep your ears warmer and don’t mess up your hair as much as a hat. I thought these were funny because of the pearls.

4. Bligtone eyeshadow in purple haze. This is listed at £16 online but I’m sure it was under £10 last time I got some from boots.

5. Black facet headband £2 ebay. Simple and cheap, headbands are always useful when I’m working.

6. flocked damask leggings £20 Dorothy perkins

7. goldstone saddle plugs £5 urbanpiercingshop.co.uk I really love the colour of these but I think my bf already bought me on and he thought it looked black which is a shame :( .

8. Quartz & silver wire ring $22 bluembrownie on etsy I’ve wanted a silver ring with a big stone or crystal for ages and it’s so hard to find nice ones that don’t cost the earth.

9. skull and flowers plug £10 uk custom plugs. Not usually my sort of thing but I really fancy these for a change.

10. shattered look crystal quartz plugs £10 urbanpiercingshop.com

11. triple septum ring and iridescent plate nose stud honeycomborganics.com . Really like both of these but they were quite expensive and from an American site so I hope to find something similar from somewhere easier to order from.

12. Just realised I have 2 number 12s! studded leather shorts £48 and tie dyes velvet leggings (so comfy) £20 topshop.

13. Jeffrey Campbell Holy . £150.

14. lazer cut shoes £120 topshop

15. Deer washbag £15 randomvintage.co.uk

16. too faced nake eye palette £30 boots (or less on ebay sometimes) Really need to replace this one, it was useful.

17. Little deer iphone case £4 ebay. My current case is pretty dead so I need a new one.

18. contour palette. £15 ebay. Always wanted one of these but never got round to buying it.

19. flocked storage boxes £10 ebay. Been watching these since the summer, I think it’s time…

20. snowflake iphone case $35 society6.com I totally need to get on society6 when I have some time to sort it out!

21. Adjustable mannequin sizes 8-14. £120 ebay. This would be really useful for making clothes, shame it doesn’t currently fit anywhere at the moment.

22. Shabby chic bin. £20 ebay. Everyone thinks I’m crazy for wanting this but not having a nice bin instead of a red plastic one that stands out like a sore thumb would really make a difference in my room.

23. Unicorn purse and beauty products £36 candycandyjewellery.com Not only is the purse cute but the products are colours that I would wear!

24. Mini chest of drawers £18.95 allofmyheart.co.uk These would be perfect to sit on my shelf for some extra storage space.

25. socks £5 topshop. Socks are a classic xmas present and these looked particularly nice and comfy.

Wow, so that look longer than expected! I’m supposed to be making my Eustratia Christmas hamper samples so I better get back to work!

Writing lists is exciting even thought you know that you probably won’t get most of what’s on there but it’s always interesting to compare afterwards :) .

Black Friday flash sale!

Though I’m not American, I decided to jump on board with the black Friday sale thing. I thought celebrating the start of the winter holiday shopping season sounded like the right thing to do and hopefully lots of people will buy pretty latex presents for their loved ones.

The sale will last till midnight Saturday GMT. I’ve reduced 120 products on http://www.eustratia.co.uk, basically all the handmade ones. I did have an other flash sale recently but I thought it might be preferable for most people to do it over a weekend so they can browse in peace.

Enjoy!

P.S. Today I’ve also been working on the new and improved Christmas hampers! I’ve decided on having set styles and colour schemes for them this year but here’s the ones from last year to give you an idea!

Bankholiday competition

Yesterday I started a little competition to celebrate the bank holiday. I wanted to promote my unicorn and fluer de lis appliques so I decided to give away an item from the image bellow.

As stated on the image all you have to do to be entered is share or reblog the image on facebook or tumblr. A winner will be chosen at random on the 14th. In the event that I have a large amount of entrants (over 800) I will choose two winners.

Please share with anyone who might be interested and good luck to those who enter!

Shopping style boards

It has been a while since I last had time for a shopping post. I always save images of products I find interesting but at busy times I have to focus on orders. While I’m disappointed I didn’t get to post about some of my finds, however, I think this is a great time for a clothes post as everyone has updated their ranges for spring.

I have complied 3 boards of my favorite spring styles.

A. Tough girl

1. Bordelle belt strap garters £130+VAT http://www.bordelle.co.uk I love these but would never be able to afford that much on garters so am considering making a similar pair.

I have bought a few of these things and hope to have a bit more spare cash soon. Having to spend all my money on my business gets depressing some times but with a new casual range coming out soon I have high hopes for the future.

Unicorn inspiration

I’m currently in the process of planning a shoot with Jennifer Byron, featuring a unicorn mask by Tom Banwell. After seeing his black rabbit mask around so much over the past year or so I was quite excited at the idea of a unicorn one.

Tom Banwell unicorn mask, complete with leather eyelashes

I’m not totally sure how much masks suit me so I’m going to make extra effort with the rest of the outfit to make sure it looks good.

When I started analysing the options I realised I didn’t know that much about unicorns and their origin so I decided to read up on them a bit. There is plenty of information online but one of the most interesting things I found was on wikipedia. Though unicorns were fist mentioned by the ancient Greeks, they are not found in Greek mythology but rather in accounts of natural history. Greek writers of natural history were convinced of the reality of the unicorn, which they located in India, a distant and fabulous realm for them. The earliest description is from Ctesias who described them as wild asses, fleet of foot, having a horn, a cubit and a half in length and colored white, red and black. Being from Greece myself I was quite suprised not to have heard this before but then again it isn’t really the kind of this they would bother teaching in school.

unicorn moodboard

I put together a vague board of unicorn-related inspiration but was actually surprised by how little I found that was to my taste. I think this shoot will be a good opportunity to create some unicorn-related imagery and accessories that aren’t overly childish or classic fantasy inspired.

I would like to keep the look with the mask quite close to the original depiction of the unicorn as possible so its going to be all white but I also like the idea of the black unicorn so I may do a second, darker look that I can play around with more.

My favourite items from the moodboard are the origami unicorns, I’d love to be able to make some of these for the shoot (especially a life-size one) but I gave it a try this afternoon and actually found it quite hard. If any origami experts happen to read this, please get in touch!
